Sites of Memory is a theatrical boat tour through the center of Amsterdam about the 'hidden histories' from slavery and the colonial past. It is a tour with performances and interventions on board and along the route. We pass by historical sites of memory, such as houses of plantation owners and locations with visible symbols of the African presence from the past and diverse Dutch cultures of the present. The 'Sites of Memory' It is a quest for better understanding of what we think we know or prefer not to know.

Sites of Memory was a collaboration between actors and musicians from Untold Empowerment, 3rd year students of the AHK theatre & education and amateur performers. The performance tour was artistically led by Jennifer Tosch, Katy Streek and dramaturgy by Maarten van Hinte. Supervision of site research by Lenne Koning and Tom Willems.
