Sites of Memory Oost is a theatrical boat trip through the colonial and slavery history of Amsterdam. The performers and writers of Poetry Circle Nowhere work together with amateur actors, bringing history to live with narratives and performances on board and on shore. The performance is a mix of past and presence, of what we know and would rather forget. It’s a search for shared past and an encounter through storytelling. Experience Amsterdam in a different way and dive into our past.

Sites of Memory Oost was a collaboration between Amsterdam Roots Festival, Black Heritage Tours, Afrovibes Festival, and Nowhere Amsterdam, with the support of the Cultural Participation Fund (FCP): Jij maakt het mee.
